Our private general practitioners at MD South Kensington Clinic can issue prescriptions if you are on medication and unable to consult your usual GP, or if you are travelling to the UK and cannot see your primary healthcare provider.
If you require a prescription or are a new patient, you will need to have a consultation with one of our GPs. However, if you have previously had an examination with us that confirmed the condition, there is no need to schedule another appointment. We can arrange for your prescription to be delivered to the nearest pharmacy upon request.
We adhere to medical guidelines when issuing repeat prescriptions. If you have already had a consultation at our clinic, you may be eligible to request a repeat prescription over the phone without needing another visit.
For your safety, you may be required to attend a follow-up consultation in person or over the phone, depending on your medication. The final decision on whether to issue the prescription rests with the doctor, and we cannot guarantee that it will always be provided. Additionally, we strictly follow professional and clinical guidelines. Please note that we do not issue prescriptions for controlled substances.

- A consultation is required for all first-time patients and those needing new prescriptions, except for those receiving treatment for a diagnosed infection.
- We follow clinical guidelines when issuing repeat prescriptions, and a phone consultation or follow-up visit may be necessary.

- We cannot guarantee that our GPs will issue the prescription you request, as each case is handled individually according to medical and clinical standards.

The Cost of Repeat Prescription Medications
While our clinic does not charge for issuing prescriptions, you will need to pay for the medication itself. You will cover the cost of the drugs rather than the standard £9.35 per item charge associated with NHS prescriptions. For many common medications, the cost may be similar to that of using the public healthcare system.
Unless you specifically request a certain brand, the GP will typically prescribe a generic, more affordable version of the medication if available. You can inform your doctor during your consultation if you require a specific brand of medicine.
